Oh poo!!!!

*WARNING!!! This post is anything but pretty, in fact, it is downright stinky!!! It may contain dirty material, I could not rightly say...

Earlier this afternoon, William was playing in his exersaucer (only the BEST infant toy around) while I was picking up around the house. I glanced over to check on him (he often slips down in the oh so wide seat and starts headbanging the toys. I tell him that this is not something good wholesome boys do, headbanging, but sometimes he can not help himself. Who could blame him.)

Upon glancing, this is what I saw.

Do you see what does not belong (hint: look down!)

That little turd!! (pun intended)

What cracked me up the most...when I lifted him out to get him cleaned up, the seat had been spared. No poopie in sight!

Doesn't he look so sweet and innocent!

Well he's not, he's a stinker!

boy oh boy (s)

Jacob finally got in to the GUTS of the pumpkin this weekend. He is a lot like his daddy...not so interested in getting down and dirty. But, being the good mama that I am, I convinced him to grab a handful of yucky ole pumpkin guts so I could get a picture for the scrapbook (you, know, the one I have not touched in almost a year...yeah, that one....)

and here is our second born. These pictures are from this morning. He was being too sweet for words!

worth it

For all you moms out there, a witty post from me tonight.....

You know you are a stay at home mom when.........

**A trip to the mall (or Target, Walmart, etc) sounds as challenging as a trip across the country.

**You hear yourself whining and saying things like, "Oh man. This is the exact same episode of Handy Manny/Mickey Mouse club house/Blue's Clues they showed yesterday...

** You have a very strong preference between Steve and Joe from Blue's Clues.

**Breakfast consists of getting everyone else fed and cleaned, and by the time you are done, you realize it is lunchtime and you must do it all again!

** and dinner is something somebody else better be figuring out because by dinner time, mama is still trying to figure out what happened to breakfast and lunch...

**Movie watching is a lost art because sleep is just more important....and going to bed at 9:30 on a Saturday night is totally the hip thing to do.

**You are so used to having to pee with the door open, that when company is over, you come dangerously close to sharing too much.

**Eco-Rangers, Moose and Zee, from Noggin are the ones who've convinced you to be more energy efficient.

**Your friend says, "Have you heard that new song, __________?" and you think to yourself that unless it's sung by The Backyardigans or Mickey, you most certainly have not heard it.

**You spend way too much time each morning trying to choose the cutest outfits for your children to wear, when you realize (as you are walking around Walmart with your beautifully goomed kids) that you are wearing the same clothes you wore yesterday and you cannot possibly remember when your hair was last washed.

**but then, you realize that this makes it all worth it....

picked a pack of pumpkins

What a beautiful day it was today. With a high of 67, how could we stay indoors!?

So, we didn't.

Jacob, William and I drove on over to our friendly neighborhood pumpkin patch.

Unfortunately, we had a monsoon come through the night before, and the patch was one big slosh pit of mushy brown mud.

Needless to say, we picked a pack of pumpkins, posed for some perfectly precious pictures, and pranced back to the pavement where we could stand on solid ground!!!

William does have feet under those pants....he just didn't want that nasty mud on his tootsies..

pack of perfect pumpkins

trying to pick the perfect one

he is practicing his "goblin look" for Halloween

and this is his "you know you want to give me candy" look

We (I) also carved a big ole punkin this evening. Last year we (I) carved Mickey, this year Jacob wanted Buzz Lightyear.

I aim to please!

all smiles

Quick post tonight, it's Thursday ya know and Thursday night is ultimate TV night. I don't kid around on Thursday's. Bath, dinner, bed. Isn't it weird how Jacob gets sleepy so early on Thursday nights. Humph....yeah, that is weird...

I took some really cute pictures this week of the boys, especially tonight when they were in their matching jammies. William is a smiley baby, and he makes it pretty easy to capture that smile on camera. Of course Jacob is just as much a ham as his baby brother.

Enjoy. Grey's Anatomy is calling!

Mr Stone says hello

I know I know....it's been so long. Two weeks to be more precise....BUT, I have a great excuse. You don't believe me?? Well, just ask me!

I have been tormented by a humongous rock. One that feels the need to jump around inside of my kidney like it is a trampoline. Bouncing around, having the time of it's life. All the while leaving me screaming in pain. That's right my dear blog readers....I have a kidney stone. Well, more like 3 or 4 kidney stones, but hey, whose counting?

I had been in pain for three days before I decided that enough was enough and had my dad bring me to the ER on Saturday night. Mike was at our dear friends wedding. One that I could not attend due to my friend, Mr. stone.

Mike met up with us at the ER shortly after I was admitted and stayed with me until I was discharged at 1am the next morning. Before discharge, the doc sent me for a CT scan of my kidneys and was beside himself when he saw how big Mr. stone really was. A typical kidney stone (he informs me) is 2-3cm. Your stone, however, is 10cm.

I see.

Monday came and I phoned my urologist about my situation regarding Mr stone. He got me in immediately and did an ultrasound and an x ray. He confirmed Mr stone's size and location, and found some junior stones still up in the kidney.

Tuesday morning I went for lithotripsy. I remember almost nothing from the experience because, for some reason or another, the nurse felt the need to heavily sedate me. Not that I am complaining! A drug overdose is WAY better than feeling the pain! I was pretty well sedated until 3 or 4pm Tuesday afternoon. My sweet sweet mom came up to care for the boys and even took Jacob home with her on Tuesday.

I spent yesterday recovering and am feeling pretty good today.

Not sure if I have passed any stones, but I have a follow up appointment next Tuesday with my doc.

In the meantime, I will be posting October - like pictures of my little pumpkins. Stay tuned!
