swimming (kind of) like a fish

Jacob completed his two weeks of swim lessons yesterday. I was very pleased with this swim place. There were at least 15 or so instructors and each instructor had 3 children that they taught.

Jacob started these lessons (having never had a lesson before) completely afraid of the water. If you remember from a few weeks back, I had finally gotten him accustomed to the water with floaties, which I was not particularly fond of.

He did wonderfully and seems much more comfortable in the water. I still don't know how confident I would be with his ability to save himself if he were to fall in accidentally, but it is a major step forward for him.

waiting for lessons to start. Notice the MANY swim instructors names on the wall behind Jacob. The kids had to stand by their instructors names before lessons started.

yuck

That's how I feel today....

Mike came home with a stomach virus yesterday, and today I have the pleasure. Thank goodness it seems to be a 24 hour thing.

William has been having good nights (sleeping for 5 hours straight) and not so good (3 hours straight). Can't comaplain though, he is not even 2 weeks old yet!

and a post would not be complete without pictures...right?

Blessed

Blessed.

That is the best word to describe having two boys!!!!!

I am officially a sterilizing, pumping, diapering, feeding, bathing, entertaining, dish doing, laundering, hugging, kissing, snuggling, picture taking mommy of two beautiful, precious boys.

I am so blessed...

less words, more visuals

A week.

Seriously.

It has been a week since my last post.

6 days since I gave birth.

Wow....

It has been busy round these parts, and blogging has been at the bottom of my to do list. I have missed it, so I am back. Not that I have much time. So I will be short on words, big on pictures.

William Thomas was born on Friday July 17, 2009 at 5:15pm after 12 hours of labor. He weighed in at 7# 6.6 oz and measured 20 inches in length. He is welcomed and very loved by his mommy, daddy, and awesome big brother Jacob.

16 and a 1/2

more hours until we head to the hospital to be induced. Yes, I am counting the hours, wouldn't you???

Jacob is staying at the neighbors house tonight so we won't have to wake him at 4 in the morning and drag him to the hospital. He seems a little nervous about his first non family sleepover. Who am I kidding, I am a little nervous about his first non family sleepover. I hope he sleeps all night and does not wake up before the sun!!!

I think what I am most excited about is (of course) meeting William, but about Jacob meeting William. I cannot wait to see how he reacts. He may not completely realize that the baby is the new reality until early next week or so when he sees him every day at home.

A little more packing to do, and some vacuuming and I will be all ready for the big day.

Obviously it will be a few days before I post again. Have a great weekend, I know we will!!!!

my daddy bites

OK, so I went to the doc yesterday, and after a HORRID exam to see if I was dilating, we decided William would be forced to make his debut on Friday. Only 3 more days!!!!

Our boys hang out, soak it all up and then have to be forced into this world by drugs. I don't think that's how the Lord intended it but we are excited all the same =0)

This weekend was a great one, as usual! Jacob spent the weekend away with grandparents and Mike and I had an awesome anniversary dinner and movie night out. It was much needed adult conversation throughout the night!!!! We love our boy, but have a hard time talking when he is saying "excuse me" 1500 times in a row!

Jacob and I spent Sunday night in town with my parents for Mike to get all of his schoolwork done. Yesterday was his last day of class until November...YAY

Last night Jacob and I went to dinner with the neighbor and her kids so Mike could finish up his last bit of schoolwork. The neighbors' little girl rode with us in our car. This was their conversation:

M: Jacob, I am warning you, little brothers are fun, but they hit too. It doesn't hurt though, but they do hit.

J: (firing right back, without hesitation) Well, my daddy bites....(a game they play, but Jacob does not offer this information)

Nice...
