Sorry for the delay!

I know it has been a couple of days since posting, and I hate to be one of "those" bloggers who rarely posts! It's just that we have been busy the last few days! With me working multiple days in a row and it being the weekend.

Mike was able to cut the grass between downpoars today so the yard looks much better. It has been raining a lot lately, which is good because we needed it! It was so windy that it was blowing Jacob sideways on his swing=)

I got a wild hair this weekend also and made Jacob a new (small) wooden toy box and sign for his club house outside. I will try to get some pics of that up soon.

Mike and I are both doing Nutrisystem and he has MUCH more willpower than me. He keeps me way motivated and he has already lost 11+ pounds!!! Way to go Mike!!!!

Well, thats all I have for now......

A little brag...

When I picked up Jacob from school today, his teacher tells me "He colors better than any child I have ever seen at this age, he pays so much attention to detail!"

Then I look down at the page he is coloring and he has colored most of it without going out of the lines at all! He is 2 for goodness sakes!

I do have to say I have a slight artistic streak, so hopefully he does too=)

Great success!

Wow, I cannot believe I forgot to post this yesterday!!! Jacob has been potty trained for a couple of months now but occasionally has an accident (tee tee, not poop). If he is at school and he has to poop, he waits until we get home to take care of business (how he does this I haven't a clue!).

Well we are the gym yesterday and while he was in the play room with the other kids (which is where he goes while I excercise) he took it upon himself to go to the bathroom, poop, wipe and only asked for help getting his pants back on....!!!!!!!!!!!!! HAHA!!!!!!!!!! Can you believe it! Now most of you might think, so what? But if you know my child, you know he tends to be on the shy side and just because he has to go to the bathroom does not mean it is important enough to talk to you to tell you he needs to go (unless it is us or his grandparents!).

We are so proud of him...so so proud=)

A new cousin

Jacob has a new cousin as of this afternoon!! Olivia Brooke was born weighing in at 8 # 10 oz=)
Congratulations Mike, Kim and Brynne! Happy birthday baby Olivia, we cannot wait to meet you!

Just a little side note, among all of his cousins (7 kids) on my side of the family, Jacob is the only boy (so far)!!!

How cute is this?!

Just today Jacob told me (as he was doing his business on the potty): "Mommy, you rest, I am still going poo poo"!!!!!!!! I was laying in bed, as it was 7:15 this morning!

Later this afternoon it was: "Daddy, you qwat down and catch me". He wanted my husband to squat down and catch him when he came off of the slide.

I love this little guy.....

All American boy

Fast forward until now, June 2008. Our beautiful little man is going to be 3 in August and he gets more precious every day. We thank the Lord above for him and don't know where we would be without him.

Like I said before, my main purpose of this blog is to journal the every day things that Jacob does, so one day, if he is interested, he can look back on his life as a child, especially these early years that he won't have any memory of, and see how much we absolutely love and adore our little guy!

Jacob is a very laidback, go with the flow type of kid. He is very concerned about the feelings of others, he loves to snuggle and give hugs and kisses. He listens very well (most of the time!). He adores his grandparents, especially his Great Grandpa=) He loves his cousin Emma and he has just about the best Nanny in the world! I believe he is a mamas boy, but he loves to follow his daddy around - cutting the grass, washing the cars, laughing when he farts! A typical all american boy, except he happens to be the CUTEST one you'll ever see.

It's the little things

I have never been so excited in all my life to see a baby smile, hear a belly laugh from a bald, drooling 6 month old, be there for a first step, a skinned knee,a snuggle after a bad fall, rock my baby to sleep, read a bedtime story, hear "mama" over and over again, clean up food smeared all over a chubby little face, see "poo poo in the potty" (only parents would understand the pure joy of this one!).

Our days are spent going to the park, swimming, coloring outside the lines, blowing bubbles, chasing butterflies, doing puzzles.....and I would'nt change it for the world.

This is what I meant by "this is where our story begins", because before Jacob, there was just us, and it was awesome ...but I NEVER could have imagined how great our story would become!

We love you baby boy, this one is for you!

In the beginning....

OK, you will have to bare with me here, as I have never done this type of thing before, and writing was never one of my strong suites, so here goes...

My darling husband and I were married in July 2003 after knowing each other for 8 years! We started trying for a baby in June of 2004 and we found out I was pregnant Decenber 2004 - on Mike's 27th birthday to be exact! Jacob Michael was born August 5th 2005. and this, my friends, is where our story begins.....

Where do I begin???

Wow, I really don't know where to start! My initial intent was to begin something like this when I first found out we were pregnant....3 years ago!!!!!!!!!!! Jacob (aka our "baby bug") will be 3 years old this August! I have so much I want to write down for him, so many memories I want to keep posted so that when he is old enough to have an interest he can come here and read all about himself! Where do I begin.....
